The Ghost Division

Panzer-Division was later nicknamed Gespenster-Division (the “Ghost Division”), due to the speed and surprise it was consistently able to achieve, to the point that even the German High Command lost track of where it was.

Rommel ranks as one of the greatest military strategists in history - often using superior tactics to outwit his enemies when outnumbered - and was an outstanding and an unconventional military leader with unique methods of command.

He was one of the few commanders who was not involved in any war crimes. Highly respected by his enemies, he was considered to be the last of the knights. During the north African campaign, Rommel often cut the water rations of his troop, so that the prisoners of war could survive.
